Understanding Your Unhappiness

If you don’t have your own storyline, you’re set to play a major role in someone else’s, so let’s talk about that cause of unhappyness.

Let’s assume you don’t want to make the condition for your failure conscious to yourself because then you’ll know when you’re failing and so you avoid making your ambitions too obvious. Furthermore, if you reveal your desires to others, they may harm you coz I can hurt you if I know what you want, but I can hurt you even more if I deny you that and so It’s wise to keep these things unclear, but this in turn creates the problem of not having a powerful direction since you’re not monitoring yourself, consulting yourself, learning about yourself, figuring out who you are and what path you should pursue, and this makes you weak. As a result, anyone with power can compete for your attention and actually win.

Therefore, if you do not have a plan, painful as it is to develop one, partly because you have to take your shortcomings into account; the moment you pose an idea of this is what you want to be, the further it is from you, the greater the shortcomings and so, every ideal is a judge for you but if it is too much for you, try to pursue something that does not intimidate you into paralysis. So ask yourself, “I would like to do this,” “I should do this,” but “will I do this?” to create a plan that has a lofty goal but also consists of manageable steps. For example, you may want to go to the gym but you know you won’t go. In this case, you may find it more manageable to walk around the block every day instead, which is still exercising.

If you know what you want, you’ll know when you’re failing, and if you don’t set out the conditions for your success, you can avoid your responsibility since it’s not clear. The problem with wanting something is that you will probably make sacrifices and work for it, which is something you may wish to avoid. While keeping quiet about it may keep you safe from harm in the short term, it will end up hurting you in the long run. Stop burying the important things in the ditch and start telling yourself and others what you want.

Attention is the basic currency right now, and everyone fights for it because it’s so valuable. It’s easy to pay attention to things that catch your short-term interest instead of, say, pursuing the causes of negative emotions. Big companies put in long hours trying to sustain our interest, but we can’t say it’s something wrong due to the significant overlap between educating, informing, and looking for attention. Keeping yourself preoccupied with activities outside of yourself is one strategy for avoiding self-awareness. The internet, mobile devices, and entertainment options are all there to keep you in that trance never moving forward.

Since life is hard, I think that a person’s motivation to keep going through it should be proportional to how hard it is. I think everyone knows and wants that, but we often forget that we get those meanings through our responsibilities. And so , you need meaning, which is better than happiness because happiness is just the result of looking for something meaningful. But almost everything meaningful requires taking on responsibilities and thus taking responsibility is one step toward attaining something meaningful and happiness.
